1. Product Introduction

Rapid HCV Ab Test is a chromatographic immunoassay for qualitative detection of the antibodies against hepatitis C virus (HCV Ab) in human serum, plasma or whole blood samples. It is intended for use in medical institution as an aid for diagnosis and management of patients related to infection with hepatitis C as well for primary screening of blood from volunteer donors on the spot.

Hepatitis C is a liver infection that can lead to serious liver damage. It is caused by the hepatitis C virus. While it causes few symptoms, most of infected people don’t know. The virus spreads through an infected person’s blood or body fluids. HCV testing is recommended for those who: currently injecting drugs; ever injected drugs, including those who injected once or a few times many years ago; were prior recipients of transfusions or organ transplants; were ever on long-term hemodialysis or have HIV infection or persistently abnormal ALT levels.
