1. Product Introduction

Rapid HBeAb Test is an immunochromatography assay for the qualitative detection of Hepatitis B virus envelope antibody (HBeAb) in human serum, plasma or whole blood specimen.

HBeAb are the antibodies produced against the hepatitis B envelope antigen. The appearance of anti-HBe is an indicator of resolution of acute infection, used to monitor treatment. The presence of HBeAb serves to distinguish two phases, which is early acute infection before the peak of viral replication, or early convalescence when HBeAg has declined below detectable levels. Additionally HBe antigen/antibody seroconversion is used as an indicator of virological response when treating patients with chronic hepatitis B.
