Rapid V. Cholerae O139 Test is a rapid immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of Vibrio Cholerae serogroups O39 in human fecal specimens, environment water or solid food specimens. The test can be used as a rapid screening test for V. Cholerae in specimens.
Cholera is an infectious disease that causes severe watery diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration and even death if untreated. It is caused by eating food or drinking water contaminated with a bacterium called Vibrio cholerae.
Rapid test for V. cholerae O1 and/or O139 can provide an early warning to public health officials that an outbreak of cholera is occurring.
